In my previous article, we saw how to link F&O environment with Dataverse environment. One of the prerequisite to link environment is both F&O and Dataverse environment must exist in same region.

For the F&O folks who are not familiar with CE/Dataverse you can find out the region of the environment by logging in to power platform admin center environment section.

However, this screen only shows environment name as United states. It does not show whether it belongs to East or West. You can figure that out by using PowerShell command.

  1. Click Start, type PowerShell, and then click Windows PowerShell.
  2. Type nslookup followed by the URL of the org as shown in the screenshot

You can then check the datacenter as written against name in the above pic(bn2 or by2) and compare it with the below screenshot. If value is bn1 your environment in east US data center.
